Cupid & Psyche CH 1 Q5

Venus is portrayed as a goddess with human emotions is a few ways. The first of which is her jealousy, and the desire to right the wrong, when Apuleius has Venus say, "Virgo ista amore flagrantissimo teneatur hominis infimi et miserrimi." You also see a human side of Venus when she speaks to Cupid about helping her when she says, "per maternae caritatis foedera," a human emotion of motherly caring that wouldn't ordinarily be seen in deities.
